About On The House
On The House was established by Shawnda Mays, a two-time breast cancer survivor. Inspired by the challenges she faced while battling the disease, Shawnda founded this organization to address the lack of resources available. Although she benefited from a strong support network, she observed that many others did not have the same level of assistance.
The mission of on the house is to support cancer patients and their caregivers by providing essential resources and companion services. We are here to accompany you during your medical visit and offer caregivers opportunities for relaxation through spa treatments and other soothing services.
The organization launched in March 2025, and within its first five months, it served seven families that were affected by Cancer. The organization participated in the Adopt a Senior In high school initiative. August 2025 on the house hosted it’s very first back to school giveaway Helping almost 200 families by providing them with bookbags, school supplies, free clothing, shoes, and hygiene items to start off the school year.
Our vision is to widen our efforts beyond local boundaries and expand our global presence in various regions. We intend to offer weekly support groups, transportation for medical appointments and financial assistance to support individuals facing challenges during this time.
