Support for Cancer Patients and Caregivers

On the House Complimentary 4 A Cause Inc. was founded by Shawnda Mays, a 45-year-old native of Toledo, Ohio, and a two-time breast cancer survivor. Inspired by the strong support of her loved ones, Shawnda established this organization to address the essential resources she found lacking during her own cancer journey. 

The mission of OTH is to ensure that cancer patients and their caregivers do not experience feelings of isolation. We offer a variety of “FREE” resources to assist individuals both during and after their treatment, including personalized care packages tailored to individual needs and companion services to help you through medical appointments. Remember, you are not alone in this journey. We also recognize the importance of caregiving, providing support to caregivers who also deserve moments for relaxation and self-care. 

Our vision is to grow beyond serving just local patients, extending our assistance to individuals in other states as well. As a nonprofit organization, we sometimes face challenges, relying heavily on the generosity of our community and donors to thrive and operate. Currently, OTH is seeking donations of school supplies and gift cards from local businesses such as grocery stores, gas stations, salons, spas, and movie theaters. Being a tax-exempt 501(c)(3) organization means that your generous contributions are tax-deductible!

August 2025, OTH will host its very first backpack giveaway, as there is a significant demand for school supplies to support our community.
