On The House “Complimentary 4 A Cause” Inc.
A Toledo-based 501(c)(3) nonprofit founded by Shawnda Mays, a two-time breast cancer survivor and author of Twice the Fight.
After facing cancer twice, Shawnda understood how overwhelming the journey can be for both patients and caregivers. She created On The House to help families feel supported, encouraged, and connected during treatment and recovery.
Our Mission
Our mission is to provide compassionate, non-medical support, resources, and encouragement to cancer patients and caregivers throughout their cancer journey.
How We Help
We support patients and caregivers through:
- Care packages filled with comfort and practical support items
- Emotional encouragement and companionship
- Resource referrals for local services
- Support during medical visits when available
- Caregiver wellness and self-care opportunities
- Community outreach and cancer awareness events
Our Vision
Our vision is to become a trusted community resource for cancer patients and caregivers by expanding access to care packages, transportation assistance, caregiver support, and emergency resources for families in need.
